We are three weeks away from hitting the road with 12 year old Victoria, Grandma and Opa. Our beginning rough draft of an itinerary is to lunch with a former co-worker of Tom's in Goodland Kansas on day 1, sleep in Wichita that night, tour Wichita Tuesday and drive on to Tahlequah, Oklahoma on Wednesday. Tom has not been there since we left in 1970...I took Lisa there on one of our college transits of Kansas. I seem to recall that she was noteably unimpressed. We will impress Victoria with a float trip down the Illinois River, something Tom and I did as newlyweds. After touring the new Indian Hospital we will drive to Branson Missouri to meet up with Sean, Chrissie , Harrison, Isacac, Holland and Iris for a fun week at Table Rock Lake, south of the City. Taking Harrison with us from there, we have yet to plan what we will see on our way to our Road Scholar program off the coast of Georgia looking at Lighthouses, shrimpboats and Sea Turtles.
So far we have had funny responses to our announcing we are going on a road trip with kids......"are you KIDDING me?"..".are you pulling an RV?"... "HOW long?" ( three weeks+)...and, thankfully, ..."That sounds like such FUN"
NEW experiences...we are SOOOOOO looking foreward to it!
