Lots of stars...Very Quiet

...is not as easy as it might sound: elbows, knees, all closer together than usual...and more pointy than you would think.
Midnight "are you cold?" " no" "where's the other blanket"...on my side, of course
4 am...no bird sounds yet...
6 ish ... One bird is sounding a plaintif call
8:30... Oops, we finally slept...and Rosemary is knocking at our door...they did breakfast...good thing. They have more "ammenities" than us. I am pretty sure we will look a little less put together when we fix breakfast tomorrow! We will set an alarm...
Had a Colorado breathtakingly gorgeous hike up Hunter Creek Valley above the city of Aspen. A "pearl" that Bob knew about: even tho the road says private property, it is forest access AND you can park at the upper trailhead only if you are old or infirm...as evidenced by your Golden Eagle Senior Pass, which I just purchased this summer at The Great Sand Dunes! We saw quite a few mountain bikers on this one track trail, as well as a boatload of wildflowers and a view if Ajax and Buttermilk mountains that I have never seen. We skied that mountain my second year on skis...had NO idea it was so steep...or why we did it!

Had salads and chicken from Denver on our 3x4 table before showering in the 3 ft square space allotted to that...Tom drank coffee from a small food prep bowl because I didn't bring coffee cups...( brought wine glasses...)
Our relatively private campsite is completely surrounded by wild raspberries...that will ripen mid August.

The Aspen Music was awesome...SOOOO many young people so accomplished! It was a delight to see all the 15-20 somethings walking around with their instrument backpacks. We ate our wine and cheese sitting on the lawn outside the tent...old Aspen, young Aspen, dogs and us, all perfectly content.

Returning to our camosite Bob grilled fabulous steaks for a great late night dinner under the Milky Way
